Watch out – there’s a Beach Officer about! Wilf works alongside Colin and Darren who are all employed by the Parish Council to patrol our beaches during the summer months to keep our visitors safe and make sure that dogs are kept on leads. The Beach Officers are in contact with the RNLI and Perranporth Surf Lifesaving Club and they all have first aid training. They reunite lost children with parents and remind people to keep away from cliffs where there could be falling rocks and move their belongings before they are swept away by the tide.

Wilf comments, “It’s a fun job when the sun shines but the we are also out here in all weathers keeping a watchful eye. There can be thousands of people on the beach on a day like today and it’s really important that everyone can enjoy themselves in a safe environment.”
