Inner Green Project
We are pleased to inform Perranzabuloe residents that planned essential works to renovate the ground and grass on the Inner Green has begun. The first stage is well underway and as you may have seen, there are large mounds of topsoil currently being deposited and will soon be spread out across the Inner Green ready for the next stage of planting grass seed. During this stage it will be necessary to stop any dogs or people walking on the newly grassed area. This will mean that access from the footpath from Ponsmere Road to the Inner Green will be temporarily closed and we appreciate your patience during this disruption.
We hope that you will appreciate the final result when we have the Inner Green in a healthy condition again for all to enjoy.
Dear Parish Council
Please can you put some big bins along the inner green path whilst work is done as only 1 litter bin and 3 dog bins are now available.
Please can you put up some proper foam board signs (not printed laminated A4 rain sodden ones) along the fence to inform both locals and visitors about the work being undertaken and why it is being undertaken and also perhaps a courteous apology for the inconvenience to both locals and visitors for lack of seating to enjoy the lovely view as the fence will obviously be there for some time. Not everyone is on Facebook and an informed community is a happy one!
The need to fence the green whilst remedial work and reseeding is undertaken is rightly needed. However the fencing sits in front of all except one bin and in front of all of the benches/stone seating. I know that this positioning is due to reducing the risk of fencing being blown over by our prevalent onshore winds and also to use the stability of the wall behind and path itself for the fencing foot stabilisers. It’s good that it is also braced from behind. I guess that having it on the green itself leads to a H&S risk if people were sitting on a bench below and the fencing was to fall.
Thank you
Spike
Many thanks for your comments and suggestions. The remaining bins are now being emptied much more regularly and we have been in contact with Biffa to arrange for an extra bin if possible. The Parish Council will be monitoring the situation very closely over the next few months. We appreciated everyone’s patience with us whilst the works are taking place and please be assured that we wish to keep these periods of disruption to a minimum. We are confident that it will all be worth while when we have the ‘Inner Green’ in a healthy condition again.
Kind regards,
Laura (Admin Officer)
