Perranzabuloe Parish Council has approved its budget for the 2026–2027 financial year following thorough and constructive discussion about the financial pressures facing both the Council and local residents. The agreed budget reflects the need to respond to increasing costs and expanding responsibilities, including the effects of inflation, while also delivering the priorities identified through the Parish Council’s Objectives and Key Results and recent public consultation.
The Parish Council remains committed to managing its finances responsibly, operating in an efficient and sustainable way, and ensuring continued value for money for the community.
At the Full Council meeting on 26 January 2026, councillors unanimously agreed to set the council tax precept with an increase of 4.15%. Members were acutely aware of the ongoing cost-of-living challenges and carefully considered how to keep the increase to the minimum necessary, while still enabling the Parish Council to meet its statutory duties.
The total budget for 2026–27 has been set at £889,691. For a Band D household, this represents an increase of approximately £6.21 per year or 12p per week.
