This year is election year!

Elections will be held on 1 May 2025 for all town and parish council seats, together with all Cornwall Council seats.  For those wishing to stand for election, everything that you need to know is now published on the Cornwall Council website (see link below) including tm.  Please note that Parish Council officers are unable to help with individual applications. Officers will only be able to signpost you.

Elections are run by Cornwall Council, not the Parish Council.

Nomination pack for candidates

If you wish to be a candidate at an election, please contact Cornwall Council as soon as possible to request a nomination pack: 

The pack will contain the required nomination forms and guidance on the election process. 

Timetable

The key timetable dates are:

Notices of Election published Friday 14 March 2025
Deadline for delivery of nomination papers 4:00 pm Wednesday 2 April 2025
Deadline to register to vote (if you’re not already registered)  Friday 11 April 2025
Deadline to apply to vote by post 5:00 pm Monday 14 April 2025
Deadline to apply for Voter Authority Certificate 5:00 pm Wednesday 23 April 2025
Deadline to apply to vote by proxy 5:00 pm Wednesday 23 April 2025
Polling day (7:00am to 10:00pm) Thursday 1 May 2025

The election timetable will begin on Friday 14 March 2025, when we publish:

  • Notice of Election for the Cornwall Council Elections
  • Notice of Election for the Parish/Town Council Elections in East Cornwall
  • Notice of Election for the Parish/Town Council Elections in West Cornwall.

These notices of election will include details of when and where candidates must deliver their nomination papers by hand before the legal deadline.

The election timetable will begin when the Notice of Election is published. Candidates must return their completed nomination papers by hand and by the deadline to the place stated in the Notice of Election.
