The 3 newly elected councillors for Perranzabuloe Parish Council joined their first Full Council meeting as members of the Council. They have all been dedicated ‘council watchers’ and attended many meetings sitting in the public gallery but now they were able to take their places on the other side of the table, and having signed their Declarations of Acceptance, all 3 contributed to the discussions and decision making of the evening.
Samantha Boston, Peter Gaisford and Linda Higgins were all voted in at a contested election in the Perranporth Ward a couple of weeks ago and were the front runners out of the 6 candidates which were nominated.
They are all passionate about the parish of Perranzabuloe and bring plenty of experience, enthusiasm and energy. They have already committed to representing the Council on outside bodies: Sam is working with Doreen on the Bolenna Park Action Group.Linda is providing a link with the Heritage Project Steering Group and Cornwall Association of Local Councils. Pete is forming a group to create a Community Emergency Plan.
They will all be working hard on helping the Clerk to progress day-to-day Council business as well as making sure the projects that have been promised to the community are delivered as quickly and efficiently as possible. These are really exciting times for our parish!
