Perran Bay Care Home has reached out to the community for help. As many staff are self-isolating they could be dangerously short-staffed. They have asked for any member of the community with caring experience to come forward to help. Message of their Chairman:

Message from Perran Bay – 26 March

Hello

In these worrying times our thanks must go out to all key workers, be they in the NHS, the food and medical supply chain, essential shop workers or others.

I would however like to say a big thankyou to all care staff and those associated with social care.

I am the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Perran Bay Care Home and our staff are working flat out whilst maintaining strict guidelines to ensure that there are no cases of COVID-19 in the Home.

Our residents are very stoic as their nearest and dearest are currently unable to visit them and we are all justifiably proud of the way that they are dealing with this terrible pandemic.

As we are all aware anyone who is high risk has been told to self-isolate and this is also the case with certain members of our staff at Perran Bay. For this obvious reason they are unable to work. This has left us with a potential risk of insufficient staff cover.

Our appeal is for anyone with experience in care, either as a profession or simply as a home carer who may be able to assist at the home to join us there.

If you are available and interested please contact either Linda Whitford (Manager) or James Godolphin (Assistant Manager) at Perran Bay on 01872 572275 or email manager@perranbayhome.com

We would love to hear from you.

Many thanks and stay safe!

Kind regards,
Andrew Bown
Chairman – Perran Bay Care Home
