Policy Statement

The Parish Council recognises its legal duty under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH) to manage the risk of exposure to Legionella bacteria.

The Council is committed to preventing or controlling the risk of Legionnaires’ disease through the identification, assessment, and management of risks associated with all water systems under its control.

This policy applies to:

• Parish Council Offices
• Parish Library
• Parish Council managed toilets (Bolenna, Droskyn and Goonhavern)

It sets out arrangements to ensure water systems are operated safely, risks are assessed and controlled, and compliance is regularly reviewed.
