Perranporth Skate Park – public preview and consultation!

The designs for the new skate park in Perranporth are now ready for planning submission. After extensive geotechnical surveys the optimum location in Ponsmere Valley has now been finalised, and by detailed collaboration with local riders, the technical design of the wheeled-sports facility has now been completed.

The Parish Council and Skate Collective now wish to invite local skaters, children, parents and interested residents to come and preview our plans ahead of their imminent submission to Cornwall Council planning department.

This is your opportunity to ask any questions about the facility, but also a chance to help shape the design of this new recreation area in Ponsmere Valley.  Our vision is for a vibrant community space that will complement this fantastic skate facility, and also create a social and recreation hub for the parish.

For instance, would you like to see play equipment positioned alongside the skate bowl?  Do you have ideas for landscaping the area?  Would you like to see more seating for spectators, or the addition of gym equipment perhaps?  Now is your opportunity to contribute to these decisions that will quickly follow once the skate area has received its planning approval.

Drop in to the Parish Council offices at Ponsmere Valley any time between 3.30pm and 6pm on Tuesday 17 December to take a look at the designs, and contribute to these decisions.  The plans will also be on display in Perranporth Library later in the week for anyone unable to come on Tuesday.
