Perranzabuloe Parish Council is delighted to announce that the Clerk’s recent grant application in the sum of £80,000 was successful. This funding has been allocated from Cornwall Council’s Community Levelling Up Grant Programme, part of the Good Growth Programme, which is delivering the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.

The grant sought to support two key community enhancement projects: the transformation of the Old Lloyds Bank building into a larger, more inclusive Community Library (£50,000), and the refurbishment of Chyanhale into a vibrant Youth Hub (£30,000), which will also serve the wider community, including social prescribers. Both projects closely align with the Objectives and Key Results of the Parish Council and represent a significant investment in the future of the local area.

These projects aim to improve access to essential services, promote social inclusion, and create welcoming, functional spaces for people of all ages. The upgraded Community Library will not only offer more space and resources for residents but will also provide a welcoming hub for learning, events, workshops and digital access.

The new Youth Hub at Chyanhale will offer a dedicated, modern space tailored for young people, while also being flexible enough to support broader community needs and services.

Works will now start in earnest to complete the projects by 31 December 2025. The library is scheduled to move into its new home in January 2026. Simon Grant Builders have been contracted to carry out the works.

The Youth Hub works will be starting within the next couple of months, so watch out for new venues for the Council meetings whilst this work takes place. Ian Williams has been contracted to carry out the works, which include accessible toilets and a space for social prescribers.

Please keep an eye on the website and our Facebook page for project updates.

These developments reflect the Parish Council’s continued commitment to building strong, connected, and future-ready communities in the Parish. It is grateful for the support of the Good Growth Programme and look forward to delivering lasting, positive change for our residents.
